Magnificent, large-scale 19th century oil portrait on canvas of a distinguished gentleman. This impressive Victorian painting captures the subject with a strong presence and character, making it an exceptional statement piece for any interior.

The portrait is housed in a thick, ornate gilt gesso frame that beautifully compliments the painting. The frame measures 36-1/2" tall by 31-1/2" wide and 3" deep. Some areas of wood loss.

The painting itself is in overall excellent condition for its age, with one historical repair and a couple areas of paint loss due to crazing.
