Large Antique 1860s Silverplate Hand Engraved Presentation Platter 18"
Fabulous large antique hand engraved silverplated presentation platter dating to 1866.
The platter is has ornate engraving and a fancy border. It is hand inscribed, "Presented by the Congregational Society of Marcellus to the Reverend John Tompkins on the 25th Anniversary of his Pastoral labors with them as a token of their respect for him, and their gratitude for his long and faithful Services. 1866." This was the year after the American Civil War ended.
The platter measures 18" by 14". It is in good antique condition with some light spots of silver plate wear.
