Pair of Victorian 10K Gold Real Scarab Beetle Earrings, 14k Gold Wires

Lovely pair of Victorian (circa 1890-1900) real scarab beetle earrings set in 10K gold with 14K newer gold wires. 

This is a superb example of the Egyptian revival of the late 19th century. Many tombs were uncovered at this time, causing a knock-on effect in the fashions of the time.

The scarabs have wonderful colors. They measure approx. 1-1/8" tall to the top of the wires. They weigh 2.65 grams. Excellent condition.
