Pair of 19th C. French Barbotine Majolica with High Relief Flowers

A very rare and exceptional pair of 19th century French Barbotine Majolica vases, beautifully decorated with large, hand-modeled flowers and lush dimensional foliage.

The richly colored blossoms are delicately sculpted and applied to the dark, lustrous vase bodies, creating a dramatic 3-dimensional effect.

They measure approx. 6-1/4" tall by 5-1/2" wide. Very good antique condition with only very minor chipping to a few of the flower petals, consistent with age and the delicate nature of applied decoration.
