Rare 1880s 14K Gold Rose Cut Diamond Surround Handpainted Portrait Ring

An extraordinary find!

A rare c. 1880s large hand-painted portrait ring surrounded by 23 rose cut diamonds that are 5 points each, totaling 1.15 carats.

This spectacular ring is 14K yellow gold, and the hand-painted woman is on shell. There is a small diamond on the woman's headpiece and shoulder. The painting is simply beautiful, detailed, and in spectacular condition.

The face of the ring measures approx. 1" tall by .80" wide. The shank of the ring is quite ornate with swirls. Such a gorgeous contrast.

Ring is a US size 7.75, and is sizable. Total weight is 8.56 grams. Ring has some faint marks that are not legible, but has been tested for 14K gold.

This is a rare statement ring that is sure to garner attention. A fine example of Victorian workmanship!
