Victorian Union League Club, New Haven CT Crested Teapot

This fancy, ornate antique silver plated teapot is from the prestigious Union League Club of New Haven, Connecticut. The New Haven club traces its history to 1884, when the organization was founded as a private men's civic and social club. It occupied the historic mansion on Chapel Street, a building dating to 1860, and remained a social club until the 1970s.

Beautifully ornate and in excellent condition, it bears the club's fancy crest with fabulous detail throughout. It has a mirror-like patina. The interior is clean enough for an individual serving of tea.

The pot is manufactured by Reed & Barton and dates to the late 19th century. It measures 6-1/2" tall and 7" from handle to spout.
